FAQ:
Where do I get movies to watch? The best thing to do is to learn to encode movies yourself. There are many sources on the interent that will help you encode your movies to DivX or XviD.
A movie I would like to watch is in a specific aspect ratio. Does mini Media Player resize to my specific aspect ratio? mini Media Player automatically adjusts to the size of the loaded file. If your movie was ripped to the correct aspect ratio for that specific movie then mini Media Player will display the movie in the correct aspect ratio.
Why do some of my movies have black bars? If your movie was encoded with black bars then they will by displayed. mini Media Player is unable to compensate for movies encoded with black bars. The best thing to do is to strip the black bars when ripping a movie.
When I open a movie, nothing happens, mini Media Player just sits there. What's going on? mini Media Player is a simple application that controls the standard Windows Media Player 6.4 OCX files. If your movie won't load, try downloading the latest codec that the movie you are trying to watch was encoded in. If you are unsure what codec your movie was encoded in go to http://www.doom9.org and dowload gspot. In my personal opinion you should use the XviD codec to decode all movies encoded with a FourCC codec (Xvid, DivX, DX50, MP4V). You can download the XviD codec from http://www.doom9.org.
